(HARTFORD, CT) – Luke Bronin, the endorsed Democratic candidate for Mayor of Hartford, today released the following statement:
“If you want a crystal clear example of just how out of touch the Mayor and everyone at City Hall is, look no further than the latest stop on the shameless publicity tour. We’re in the middle of a heat wave, and the Mayor is talking about snow removal. Our city leads New England when it comes to homicides, and yet the Mayor can’t find time to pull together a public meeting to address the crisis.
“Yesterday, it was hard hats and lots of self-congratulatory back patting for a stadium that is already over budget and behind schedule. Today, we’re talking snow removal, and it’s not even Labor Day. Being prepared is one thing, but this, like so many other events, feels more like a campaign pep rally than actual governing.
“Mayor, when are you going to get serious about addressing the issues that our city faces? When will the PR stunts stop and when will the governing begin? When will you put forward a plan to address the violence?”
