Today, I released an economic development plan focused on creating and retaining jobs for residents and making Hartford a more attractive place to do business. Some neighborhoods in Hartford face Great Depression levels of unemployment, and too many residents and small businesses just can’t get a leg up. Change won’t happen overnight, but with the right plan and relentless implementation, we can get Hartford growing again and give residents access to opportunity.
We need to take a comprehensive approach to job creation, and the Mayor needs to be Hartford’s Chief Economic Development Officer, working every single day to retain jobs and push for new opportunities for Hartford residents. I hope you’ll take a moment to read my plan and give me feedback about how we can move Hartford forward.
