Connecticut is now first state in the nation to have ended chronic homelessness among veterans. Honored to join Governor Malloy and Senator Blumenthal in marking this milestone earlier today, and proud of the work that we did together that touched the lives of so many.
Connecticut has some amazing organizations and dedicated, caring people who made this happen. I look forward to harnessing those resources to combat the broader challenge of homelessness in our community. Just as no one who has served his or her country in uniform should have to live on the streets, no child attending Hartford public schools should be without a home. Let’s dedicate ourselves as a community to this goal, which is both ambitious and achievable.
