Luke Bronin today released a TV ad that continues to address the most pressing issue facing Hartford residents - the dramatic spike in crime. In the new spot, viewers hear directly from Robert Nelson, a retired sergeant from the Hartford Police Department and a Hartford resident.
Many of the initiatives discussed in the ad can be found in “Safe Streets, Strong Neighborhoods,” Luke’s plan to address the spike in crime. For a transcript of the ad, see below.
TRANSCRIPT:
“Hartford now leads New England in murders.
“But Mayor Segarra cut the police budget, he cut the number of cops, and he cut school funding.
“And when Pedro Segarra had a meeting to discuss crime, he closed it to the public.
“The Courant said he had ‘questionable judgment.’
“I’ll say.
“The right judgment is more police on the street, and better schools.
“That’s how you get Hartford working again.
“And it’s why we need Luke Bronin as mayor.”
