“Story” - Luke Bronin’s First TV Ad

Luke Bronin today released a TV ad that addresses the most pressing issue facing Hartford today – the dramatic spike in violence crime. The ad outlines the steps Luke would take as mayor to reduce the spike, including hiring additional police officers, going after illegal guns, creating job opportunities for young people and improving public education. The ad also points to cuts to police funding, police officers and schools funding as the wrong priorities to get Hartford working again. Many of the initiatives discussed in the ad can be found in “Safe Streets, Strong Neighborhoods,” Luke’s plan to address the spike in crime. For a transcript of the ad, see below.

TRANSCRIPT: “So you have seen an impact from…”

“Definitely. People are scared to be on the streets.”

“I’m Luke Bronin, and crime is out of control in Hartford.”

“But Pedro Segarra cut police funding, he cut the number of cops, and he cut school funding, too.

“We need safe streets and good schools, if we are going to recruit jobs.

As Mayor, I’ll hire more police and get illegal guns off of our streets. And we need better schools and more youth jobs to help stop crime before it happens.

I am Luke Bronin, and I approve this message because that’s how we’ll get Hartford working again.”
